Mass scales in the Randall-Sundrum models: $\mu$ and $\Lambda_{c.c.}$

Jihn E. Kim

(Seoul National University)

I would like to discuss first the scale problem in the Randall-Sundrum model I. The result is that the second brane is better not to be a TeV brane. But if this second brane is an intermediate scale brane, the $\mu$ term and soft terms at the visible Planck brane are understood. On the other hand, if we have a full 5D theory with localized gravity (RSII model), the hierarchy is not understood. Nevertheless, there may exists a self-tuning solution of the cosmological constant. I briefly discuss the history on this type of self-tuning solutions.
