Elementary Topics in Lie Representation Theory

Dayanand Verma

(TIFR, Mumbay INDIA)

I've devoted my life to the finite-dimensional irreducible representations, and the infinite dimensional "standard" modules bearing my name are just a device to finite-dimensional ends. I'd speak briefly on the lessons I learnt over the last decades from the 19th Century Invariant Theory; and from there I expect to get more directed questions from the audience, on many related matters -- possibly including Kac Moody Lie algebras.

Where: Modulo C-XVI, 3rd floor, Facultad de Ciencias U.A.M., C.U. Cantoblanco, 28049-Madrid
