Chiral Perturbation Theory and Quenched QCD

Maarten Golterman

Washington U., St. Louis, USA

After an explanation and motivation of the use of the quenched approximation in lattice QCD, I will give an introduction to the use of chiral perturbation theory in studying the nature of this approximation. I will then present and discuss high-statistics CP-PACS results for the quenched QCD spectrum, where one-loop quenched chiral perturbation theory was used for the chiral extrapolation to physical quark masses.

The almuerzo-seminario is intended to be an informal seminar and an open forum for discussion.

You are wellcome to bring your own bocata (sandwich), or coffee or tea.

Where: Modulo C-XVI, 3rd floor, Facultad de Ciencias U.A.M., C.U. Cantoblanco, 28049-Madrid
