SUPERSYMMETRY BREAKING FROM EXTRA DIMENSIONS

Mariano Quirós

I.F.T./C.S.I.C.

I will study the supersymmetric particle spectroscopy and electroweak breaking of theories where supersymmetry is broken by compactification (Scherk-Schwarz (SS) mechanism) at TeV scales. Soft breaking terms are insensitive to the high energy cutoff due to the extreme softness of the SS mechanism. It leads to a characteristic hierarchy of the supersymmetric spectrum. Electroweak breaking proceeds through radiative corrections. In this class of theories the mu-problem is automatically solved by the SS mechanism without introducing an extra scale. Unification in the presence of extra dimensions is studied for models with SS breaking.

The almuerzo-seminario is intended to be an informal seminar and an open forum for discussion.

You are wellcome to bring your own bocata (sandwich), or coffee or tea.

Where: Modulo C-XVI, 3rd floor, Facultad de Ciencias U.A.M., C.U. Cantoblanco, 28049-Madrid
