Kaluza-Klein S Duality

I will informally review the basics of Kaluza-Klein theory. Then I will study in detail 4-dimensional electric-magnetic duality and I will show that only for a certain size of the internal dimension the theory has electric-magnetic duality as a symmetry. In other words: for that fixed size of the internal dimension there is an (electric-magnetic) symmetry enhancement. This talk will be mainly pedagogical.

The almuerzo-seminario is intended to be an informal seminar and an open forum for discussion.
