The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women<\/a> will mark the launch of the UNiTE campaign<\/a> (Nov 25- Dec 10) \u2014 an initiative of 16 days<\/a> of activism concluding on the day that commemorates the International Human Rights Day<\/a> (10 December). This UNO 2023 campaign Invest to Prevent Violence against Women & Girls<\/a> will call on citizens to show how much they care about ending violence against women and girls and call on governments worldwide to share how they are investing in gender-based violence prevention. UNO is calling to join the global movement with the #NoExcuse slogan calling for urgent investments to prevent violence against women and girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this initiative, the IFT, together with the network Igualdad Intercentros CSIC+UAM, has launched the film series ‘Women, Life, Freedom<\/a>‘ in solidarity with the protest movement that began in Iran following the murder of Jina Mahsa Amini on 16 September 2022 while under arrest by the Iranian morality police. More information on the event website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several activities will take place at UAM during the week 20-25N, all the information can be found here<\/a>. A minute’s silence for the victims of gender violence will take place on Thursday, November 23 @ 13:30, in front of the rectorate building, followed by the presentation of CRUE’s manifesto by UAM’s rector, Amaya Mendikoetxea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
