SUMMARY:#YoFisicaEnLaCalle
DESCRIPTION:Para conmemorar el Día de las Mujeres y las Niñas en la Ciencia\, el IFT UAM-CSIC lanza #YoFisicaEnLaCalle\, la quinta edición de la iniciativa #YoFisica.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCon #YoFisicaEnLaCalle el IFT lleva esta actividad a los patios de los colegios e institutos y a los barrios\, pidiendo las y los más jóvenes que pregunten sobre la física y las físicas en la calle y graben un vídeo con el resultado. \n\n\n\nTodos los vídeos serán recopilados en un único contenido audiovisual\, que se publicará el 11 de febrero en el canal de YouTube del IFT.  Todos los vídeos aparecerán también en el canal IFT 11 Febrero y en esta galería. \n\n\n\nAquellos y aquellas que deseen participar deberán enviar su vídeo antes del 21 de enero a la siguiente dirección de correo: yofisica.ift@gmail.com \n\n\n\nToda la información y las propuestas de preguntas para los vídeos están disponibles en la página web: #YoFisicaEnLaCalle y en este documento:

SUMMARY:Public Lecture: Piedad de la Cierva and the Silenced Legacy of Women in the CSIC
DESCRIPTION:Carmen Gómez-Fayrén de las Heras\, a predoctoral researcher at the IFT\, will deliver an informative talk about the life of Piedad de la Cierva\, the only female member of the CSIC at its inception.The lecture will take place on Thursday\, February 8\, 2024\, at 7:00 PM in the auditorium of the IFT.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPiedad de la Cierva Viudes was a pioneer scientist from Murcia\, and the only woman member of the CSIC in its first constitution. Throughout her career she studied various subjects such as radioactivity and optics. \n\n\n\nOther pioneering women like her\, and also men\, were harshly silenced due to the context of the time\, leaving a muted footprint in their respective fields of work. \n\n\n\nThe talk will be given by Carmen Gómez-Fayrén de las Heras\, grandniece of Piedad de la Cierva herself and predoctoral researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics UAM-CSIC. \n\n\n\nThe aim of this talk is to pay tribute to all those women who suffered discrimination and repression at the time. \n\n\n\nThe talk (in Spanish) will start at 19:00 at the IFT auditorium and will be preceded by a coffee at 18:30.

El lunes 12 de febrero a las 10:00 lanzamos el vídeo resumen en el canal de YouTube del IFT\, ¡no os lo perdáis!Este año\, con #YoFisicaEnLaCalle\, os propusimos salir al patio de vuestro cole o instituto o a la calle de vuestro barrio y preguntar sobre física.
