SUMMARY:Ciclo de charlas: 'La nueva era de la Física Fundamental'
DESCRIPTION:El Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC ofrece un año más su programa de charlas de divulgación en el entorno de la Residencia de Estudiantes de Madrid. \n\n\n\nCon motivo de la Semana de la Ciencia del CSIC\, la Residencia de Estudiantes acoge un año más el ciclo de charlas sobre Física Fundamental ofrecido por el Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC. El ciclo\, que cumple este año una década\, es ya una tradición consolidada que atrae en cada edición a cientos de personas  interesadas por la física al entorno privilegiado de la Residencia de Estudiantes\, lugar de encuentro durante décadas de personajes ilustres de la historia. \n\n\n\nEl ciclo se compondrá de seis charlas dirigidas tanto a público general como especializado\, que versarán sobre temas clave en el presente y futuro de la investigación: computación cuántica\, física de partículas\, inteligencia artificial\, materia oscura y ondas gravitacionales. \n\n\n\nLas y los ponentes son investigadores con una dilatada carrera científica y divulgadora\, pertenecientes al Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC\, al Instituto de Física Fundamental (IFF CSIC)\, al Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC UV/CSIC) y al Centro Andaluz de Física de Partículas Elementales (CAFPE UGR). \n\n\n\nNo es necesaria confirmación de asistencia y la entrada será libre y gratuita hasta completar aforo.  \n\n\n\nCuándo: 7\, 8\, 16 y 17 de noviembre a las 18:00h. \n\n\n\nTambién puedes seguir las conferencias en directo aquí. \n\n\n\nMás información sobre el programa del ciclo aquí.

SUMMARY:Cuando la ciencia encuentra al arte: IFT y Thyssen en una "alianza con las musas"
DESCRIPTION:Con motivo de la Semana de la Ciencia 2023\, el Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC\, el Museo Nacional Thyssen Bornemisza y La Academia: Arte y Ciencia se unen para comunicar la ciencia de manera única\, a través del arte en un recorrido temático que se podrá disfrutar del 6 al 19 de noviembre 2023 y que culminará con una mesa redonda el 16 de noviembre. \n\n\n\nLa alianza con las musas es una propuesta de recorrido libre por las salas siguiendo un itinerario que mezcla arte y ciencia\, conectando la experiencia emocional del espectador ante los cuadros con reflexiones científicas en base a los mismos. \n\n\n\nEl objetivo es derribar los muros entre disciplinas y aportar una visión singular de la naturaleza que nos rodea a través de los lenguajes de arte y ciencia\, crear una narrativa visual de la ciencia que despierte la imaginación del visitante y contemplar los cuadros con una mirada diferente. \n\n\n\nNo se trata de una explicación estética o de una crítica artística de las obras\, sino de una forma de que la ciencia se vuelva más accesible y envolvente a través de ese diálogo con el arte\, y que el público experimente cómo los misterios de la ciencia se fusionan con los matices del arte para crear un marco conceptual único\, original y\, sobre todo\, emotivo. Esta transmisión de la ciencia a través del arte crea paisajes entre las nociones científicas abstractas y las obras de arte concretas de las que todos pueden disfrutar. \n\n\n\nLa actividad La alianza con las musas\, pensada para celebrar la Semana de la Ciencia\, posee un formato doble: \n\n\n\n1) Un folleto gratuito para recorrer libremente 15 obras de la colección permanente\, comentadas por los miembros de La Academia Arte y Ciencia: Miguel Peiró\, Candela Pérez y Alejandro Sanz; los investigadores del Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC: Alberto Casas\, David Cerdeño y Esperanza López\, y la científica del Departamento de Biología de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid\, Patricia Álvarez-Campos. \n\n\n\n2) Una mesa redonda moderada por Miguel Peiró e integrada por Patricia Álvarez-Campos\, Alberto Casas\, Esperanza López\, Candela Pérez y Alejandro Sanz\, que tendrá lugar en el salón de actos\, el 16 de noviembre a las 17:30\, con entrada gratuita hasta completar el aforo. \n\n\n\nVía: https://www.museothyssen.org/actividades/alianza-musas-semana-ciencia-2023-recorrido-tematico-mesa-redonda

SUMMARY:Film Series: Woman\, Life\, Freedom - Persepolis
DESCRIPTION:The film series ‘Woman\, Life\, Freedom’ (Zan\, Zendegi\, Azadi) is an initiative of the Red de Igualdad Intercentros CSIC+UAM in solidarity with the protest movement that began in Iran following the murder of Jina Mahsa Amini on 16 September 2022 while under arrest by the Iranian morality police.  \n\n\n\nInspired by UN Women’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign\, the initiative will run from 17 November to 15 December 2023\, including 25N\, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women\, and 10D\, Human Rights Day. \n\n\n\nOn the first day of the series\, we’ll show the short documentary How Iran’s history is fuelling the Mahsa Amini protests | It’s Complicated (The Guardian – 04:54)\, followed by the 2007 film: Persepolis ( Marjane Satrapi\, Vincent Paronnaud  – 01:36:00). \n\n\n\nWith this film series\, we want to join our voices to those of the protesters and pay tribute to all those who risk being killed\, tortured or executed for their struggle in defence of human rights\, and to the activists who fight every day for women’s rights in Iran and elsewhere.

DESCRIPTION:Para conmemorar el Día de las Mujeres y las Niñas en la Ciencia\, el IFT UAM-CSIC lanza #YoFisicaEnLaCalle\, la quinta edición de la iniciativa #YoFisica.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCon #YoFisicaEnLaCalle el IFT lleva esta actividad a los patios de los colegios e institutos y a los barrios\, pidiendo las y los más jóvenes que pregunten sobre la física y las físicas en la calle y graben un vídeo con el resultado. \n\n\n\nTodos los vídeos serán recopilados en un único contenido audiovisual\, que se publicará el 11 de febrero en el canal de YouTube del IFT. The screening will be preceded by the short documentary: The struggle for women’s rights in Iran (TIME – 12:26). \n\n\n\nThis series is an initiative of the Red de Igualdad Intercentros CSIC+UAM in solidarity with the protest movement ‘Woman\, Life\, Freedom’ (Zan\, Zendegi\, Azadi) that started in Iran after the assassination of Jina Mahsa Amini on 16 September 2022 while under arrest by the Iranian morality police. DESCRIPTION:The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will mark the launch of the UNiTE campaign (Nov 25- Dec 10) — an initiative of 16 days of activism concluding on the day that commemorates the International Human Rights Day (10 December). This UNO 2023 campaign Invest to Prevent Violence against Women & Girls will call on citizens to show how much they care about ending violence against women and girls and call on governments worldwide to share how they are investing in gender-based violence prevention. UNO is calling to join the global movement with the #NoExcuse slogan calling for urgent investments to prevent violence against women and girls. \n\n\n\nFollowing this initiative\, the IFT\, together with the network Igualdad Intercentros CSIC+UAM\, has launched the film series  ‘Women\, Life\, Freedom‘ in solidarity with the protest movement that began in Iran following the murder of Jina Mahsa Amini on 16 September 2022 while under arrest by the Iranian morality police. More information on the event website. \n\n\n\nSeveral activities will take place at UAM during the week 20-25N\, all the information can be found here. A minute’s silence for the victims of gender violence will take place on Thursday\, November 23 @ 13:30\, in front of the rectorate building\, followed by the presentation of CRUE’s manifesto by UAM’s rector\, Amaya Mendikoetxea.
